Your First Visit to See Me Smile Dental

Your First Dental Visit

What to Expect from Your First Visit

At See Me Smile Dental, we understand that each and every patient is unique. That's why we invite all of our new patients to enjoy an introductory consultation with us, so we can get to know you and your needs, and you can get to know us.

We firmly believe that it's important for you to feel in control of you and your family's oral health. So, from the very first visit to our office, we will be there to guide you in navigating options and will provide a personalized treatment and prevention plan that's guided by your personal preferences and our expertise.

Do you have some initial concerns or a specific issue you'd like to discuss?

Not a problem. All new patient visits are fully tailored to your specific requirements. Just be sure to let us know at the start of the appointment (or when you're booking your appointment) so we can prioritize this within your initial dental examination.

Your First Dental Exam

Your First Dental Exam at See Me Smile Dental

When you attend your first appointment, we'll dedicate more time with you than we would in regular appointments. This ensures we can get to know each other and that we can learn all we need to about your individual dental care needs.

To create a dedicated treatment plan that's unique to your smile, we'll:

Go through your dental history:

This allows us to gather important information about your previous dental requirements, including any issues or treatments you may have had.

Conduct a dental examination:

We'll carefully perform an oral exam to identify whether or not there are any underlying conditions that may be affecting your oral and overall health. This includes gum disease and tooth decay. We may even recommend teeth cleaning in your first visit or we can schedule a follow-up appointment with one of our dental hygienists.

Use diagnostics to gain an understanding of your current oral health:

Our state-of-the-art equipment, such as digital x-rays, provides us with an in-depth understanding of your oral health. These findings are almost instant, too, so we can share them with you right away.

Discuss your requirements and wishes:

After the thorough examinations, we'll talk about our findings and what our dental treatment recommendations are for the future. We'll also discuss what your hopes and wishes are so we can ensure that our goals are completely aligned.

Provide a detailed dental treatment schedule:

Depending on what (if any) treatments you require, we'll provide you with a detailed treatment schedule so you know what to expect and when. We'll include your goals, our expectations, and potential timelines for your treatment so you will understand all your options and feel confident in the next stages of your treatment plan.

To help make sure your visit to our dental office is as comprehensive and stress-free as possible, you may also want to bring the following to your appointment:

  • Information about your dental and medical history, such as a list of medications you're currently taking
  • Your dental insurance card (if applicable)
  • Your parent or legal guardian - if you're under the age of 18 (we also welcome people of all ages to bring someone else with them if it makes them feel more comfortable)

Having all of this information available for your first visit will speed up the process. It will also ensure we're aware of all of those essential details we need to provide you with the best possible care.
