Porcelain Veneers are ultra-thin, pearly white laminates bonded directly onto your teeth, covering chips, stains, or difficult to treat and unsightly areas. They can be made of many different materials and are a standard tool in any dentist’s arsenal.
Dr. Omid Barkhordar is an expert in the use of veneers, and would be happy to consult with you on whether they would be an appropriate choice.
Dental Veneers can be made from many different materials and composites, but porcelain veneers are often preferred. Porcelain has a pearly, inner radiance which most closely resembles the look of natural teeth.
Would I Benefit From A Veneer?
If you have any of the following issues, you may be an ideal candidate:
Excessive tooth discoloring: Sometimes brushing and bleaching isn’t enough. In this case, the fine covering of a veneer can be just the thing.
Broken, misshapen, or cracked teeth: Veneers are a great way to fix this.
Gaps in your upper or lower teeth can be fixed by porcelain veneers in as well.

Getting veneers is a fairly easy, routine procedure. It usually takes no more than two to three office visits.
In your first visit, Dr. Omar Barkhordar will personally consult with you to find out whether they are in fact the best option for you, explain the details of the procedure, and perhaps take a preliminary x-ray or impression of your tooth structure.
Next, Dr. Barkhordar will gently reduce the enamel on the designated tooth by less than a millimeter – this is the exact amount which the new veneer will soon replace. At this point, an impression is taken of the tooth, and specifications are sent to the lab to build your personal, customized set.
Finally, your tooth will be prepared and the veneer will be attached and bonded. You’re set to go!
